Link PowerPoint & PDF | Auto Presentation Switcher
Forget the hassle of merging PowerPoint presentations into one large file: With the presentation-linking feature, APS ensures that when you are at the end of a presentation, clicking “Next” on the presentation-clicker will take you to the next presentation in the folder. And by enabling “Seamless Switching”, this transition will look as smooth as going from one slide to the next
Please note that this feature is only available for Windows
1. Enable presentation-linking
By default, this feature is turned off. You can turn it on from the settings. Look for the “link presentations” on/off switch.
2. Understanding “Next” and “Previous” presentations
When you are at the end of a presentation, and you click “Next” on the clicker with the “link presentation” feature, the next presentation in the folder will open. So lets presume you are displaying presentation “3. John.pptx” from a folder with these files:
1. Jane.pptx
2. Ola.pptx
3. John.pptx
4. Arnold.pptx
Then the “next” presentation will be Arnold.pptx. Similarly, if we are on the first slide on John’s presentation, and we push “Previous” on the presentation-clicker, that will take us to the last slide of Ola’s presentation.
The slide-order will be the same if we merged all the slides from the 4 presentations into one large PowerPoint file.
3. Under the hood: How the “link presentation” feature works
The technical method used for the presentation-linking is based on our apps ability to understand when you are at the end or beginning of a presentation. Then APS will listen for presentation-clicks, keyboard-strokes or APS commands, that advances slides. When this is detected, APS will display the next presentation.
If “seamless switching” is enabled, then APS will “freeze” the screen when you are on the end of your presentation, ensuring that when you exit the presentation, the last slide will still be shown until the new presentation is ready.
